The Great Debate - East vs. West

It has been said that Cleveland and its surrounding suburbs contain some of the greatest sights and places in the world. Well, I can say that having lived here all my life that statement is so very true. This city has everything from, great restaurants, shops, parks, night life, and most importantly cachers.

Unfortunately depending on whom you ask you are probably going to get a different answer. That’s more than likely due to where that persons from. Eastsiders think they have it all, likewise the Westsiders think their tops. It’s funny when you think about it, how that imaginary line divides this fantastic area in two.

Although I may not be able to tell where the best restaurants are or where the best places are to hang out. I can do my part to help settle one of the debates - Which side of town has the best cachers.

So call in the reserves and gather with your fellow area cachers for the kick off to the East vs. West and have some laughs and most of all fun!!
And maybe we can determine if the Eastsiders are better than those Westside cachers or if the Westsiders can claim victory over the Eastside.

For now is your chance to show those funny people on the other side of town who’s better.

Now onto the important stuff:
The game is simple, have you ever heard of capture the flag, well it’s time to put a little caching twist to it.
The rules are simple:
1. East vs. West. Pick which side you want to play for, and that should be easy, there are only two teams. Eastsiders and Westsiders. Then get together, form a plan and of course get out and go caching.
2. The area: Using Cleveland as the epicenter I created a grid consisting of 64 equal squares. Each square measuring 6.25x6.25 miles.
3. The Hunt: With in each square are two caches. One labeled East and the other labeled West. You objective is to find the other teams caches. Once they are located make sure to note the information within. For that information will help you in locating the final cache. (Now there is nothing stopping you for finding the other cache in the area but remember this is a race. So you have to ask yourself “do you feel lucky”, and by that I mean do you think you can gather them all before the other side gathers theirs.)
4. The Final: Once all 64 caches have been found, use the information you have gathered and go find that final cache. Inside that container are two flags, one for your side and one for the other teams. TAKE BOTH FLAGS!!! This confirms that you have safely secured yours as well captured the other sides.
5. The Spoils: To the victor go the spoils. We will be gathering again at the end of the month to celebrate one side victory and to present to them the grand prize, a wonderful trophy that can be proudly displayed at your monthly event.

Please keep in mind that some of these caches are only accessible during day time hours. So please no night caching on those caches that are listed that way.

So come and visit with cachers from all over the area, gather with your team, all the while sizing up your competition. Also know that this event is open to all cachers, not just those who live in the Cleveland area.
The kick off will start at 5:30 pm and will be held at:
