Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS BEING REMOVED FROM THE FIELD ON 4/20/2013. THE PERMIT IS EXPIRED. This cache is in the Southeast corner of Allegany State Park. It is a 50 caliber ammo box. On certain days you may incur a vehicle use fee unless you drive up from Bradford on Interstate Pkwy.

This cache is named after the (now deceased) wild pigs that were seen in the park last year in this general area. The cache is reached from the service roads in this area. Park near the toll booth and look for the horse trail marker to start your hike. There is a short walk from the trail to the cache. This cache is surprisingly high at 2350 ft but you essentially start on top of the hill. The area is quite pretty with lots of rock formations and other things to see. You can make a long hike out of it by following the service road loops visible on the USGS Quad for the area. This cache has ASP permit ALL242. There is a geocaching pin in with the log book as a First To Find award.
