TeRock, Slammer47, and myself (EarTrumpet) are wrapping up a day of
caching. We made a point of doing RR2K#L, which has got to be one
of the greatest caches of all times. It was a milestone for
Slammer47, and TeRock and myself were glad to be there. But that
cache is nothing like this one.
This cache started with Rocky (the Rock of TeRock) seeing
something in the distance. I used to think that he had X-Ray eyes,
I mean, he's always seeing things that I cannot see. And they are
always like hundreds of feet away.
So, Rocky says "Look at that over there."
"What, I don't see anything", I reply.
Slammer47 chimes in, "Oh yeah, looks like a bike trail."
"What are you two talking about?", I ask.
"Right over there, a bike trail.", Rocky says.
I still don't see it until we're right on top of it. And there
it is, an old, abandoned bike trail. It would be tough to ride on
it today, it's pretty overgrown. Heck, it would have been tough to
ride on it when it was new. Who builds bike trails like this? Is
this like the abandoned Cincinnati Subway system? A good idea, but
a critical engineering flaw makes the whole thing useless. You'd
break your neck trying to ride on this trail. I mean, maybe this
guy could ride on the trail...
or this guy...
But the rest of us are going to have trouble trying to bike on
this thing. I don't get it, but, after a short deliberation, we
decide that we have to place a cache here. Everyone has to see that
the city that made the crazy famous unused subway also made a crazy
not-so-famous bike trail. Looks like they went to a lot of trouble
to make this trail too. I wonder where it goes?
