Geocache Description:

There are several ways to the top of Mount Strachan. You can take the gravel service road (in winter a green ski run) from the chairlift base out and around the mountain. Or you can walk right up under the chairlift (a difficult hike to be sure). Or you can walk for 15 - 20 minutes down the Howe Sound Crest Trail, and then take the old trail up the far side of Mount Strachan (this trail isn't listed on the park maps, but is a well-marked trail you can find in most coast hiking books).

The cache is a large plastic tupperware-type container in a plastic bag. There are a few goodies for trade. (Eventually, I'll replace this, as per my other summit caches, with a small lock & lock, suitable for pin, pendant, and geocoin trades).

This cache will not be accessible in the winter, very likely buried under many metres of snow.

Visit the Cypress Provincial Park website for trail maps and other important hiking information.

When you make it to the top sit back, enjoy the view of Howe Sound, but beware - the Lions are watching you!
