Remembering Maggie
We who choose to surround ourselves
with lives more temporary than our own,
Live within a fragile circle that is easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps,
we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality,
never fully understanding the necessary plan.

Maggie was a border collie who enriched our lives for 6 short years, falling victim to a sudden illness in April, 2004, soon after we started geocaching. Like most dogs, Maggie loved walks and loved to be with her people. This cache has been placed in her memory and in honor of pets everywhere, who give us their companionship and unconditional love.
The cache is about a half mile from the parking co-ords and would make a perfect outing for geo-dogs. The terrain rating reflects the presence of thorns along some areas of the path and a short climb near the end of your trek. Wear blaze orange during hunting season as we saw evidence of this activity when placing the cache.
The 30-cal ammo can has initially been stocked with dog-themed items including kid’s items, but it isn’t necessary to trade only themed items. When you open the ammo box, you will see a magnet of Maggie on the lid, watching over her cache.
