Silver Lake History:
The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates and they are not even good for parking. They are in the middle of the lake. Parking can be found at N47° 53.282 W122° 12.445 Hopefully you will enjoy learning a little about the history of Silver Lake. The cache can be located at N47° 53.ABC W122° 12.DEF
Silver Lake was once a resort destination and what is now State Route 527 (19th Ave SE) was at one time the main route between Seattle and Everett. Attractions at Silver Lake during the early 1900s included Silver Beach, the Bungalow Inn, Wood’s Hotel and Silver Beach Resort.
To solve the coordinates you will need to find some information about Silver Lake’s history. Solve the following:
This nationally known raptor is likely to be seen at Silver Lake. What is this species average wingspan? What is this species average weight range? X-X pounds. Total these three numbers then divide by seven equals A
How many acres is Silver Lake? Plus; how many square feet was the Bungalow Inn’s dance floor? Plus; how tall was the waterslide at Silver Beach? Plus; what year did Wood’s Inn open? Plus 32 = ? Then subtract 10000, use this number for BC
How many couples could dance on the dance floor at the Bungalow Inn at one time? Divide this number by 200 and use the result as D
Which of the following birds might you see at Silver Lake? Total the number of letters in there scientific names then subtract the number of the letters in the scientific name of the one that you are not likely to see at Silver Lake then subtract two. Use this number for EF
Bufflehead
Double-Crested Cormorant
Fulvous Whistling-Duck
Common Merganser
American Widgeon
This cache is well hidden and should last at it's current location. Please use stealth as the area may be seen by lots of muggles, it just depends on when you are there. You will need a specialized tool. If you have not read the 3rd clue, be prepared with normal tools you would carry to go caching. Replace the container gently until you hear the click. You will know it when you hear it. If you find the cache in need of attention please let me know.
