What is this doing here?

This is a historic cache in Reindahl Park. Please read the historical marker close by

I was going to replace a cache I had near here...Wendy's Wanderings II...and I came upon this spot. I had no clue what this was and decided to read the nearby sign. Very interesting bit of history but I couldn't find anything on the web about the hotel. If you are so inclined and do come up with info on the hotel...please e-mail me and I will add that to the description page. This should be a quick find.
