Coordinates listed above are for the parking area only. 3 part cache, the coordinates for the first 2 parts will be posted on Sunday 10/9/05 at 9:30 am and I will be at the parking coordinates at 10:00 am with the coordinates for those who like FTF'S.
A while back Katydid and Miles Stone emailed me a few locations for possible cache spots, one was Wilcox Park, which I put on my to do list. While out doing research for 2 other caches, (nearby), I parked at the end of Wintonbury Road. When I was leaving I just had to find out where this road I haven't been on before went. It was a dead end, ending at a back door entrance to Wilcox Park (!!). The Metacomet trail plus other trails leading into Penwood park, cross each other at the parking area. This may stress you mentally and your heart and lungs. Some parts are steep, rocky and roots. May not be suitable for young kids. First two parts can be done in any order. At N41 53.138 W72 46.291 you
MAY find a object, (and some decoys) with a number carved on it, this
will complete the north coordinates, N41 52. X 68.
At N41 52.662 W72 46.310 you MAY find a object with the number written
on a piece of paper inside it, this will complete the west coordinates
W72 46. X 55. We had real bad readings both times we were there. Best
reading was 39 feet, worse was 198 feet. On the way to get the north
coordinates you may see a dog, he will be barking and running along his
property line for as long as you are near his property, but he never
got near us.
