Geocache Description:

*** THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES *** The cache is within a very short walking distance. LIFE IS GOOD UP NORTH!

This is a puzzle cache. The cache is at the following coordinates: N44 AB.CDC W85 CE.FFB To solve the cache, answer the following questions (A thru F) and match the resulting numbers to the aforementioned letter coordinates.

(A): Michigan has 12,500 miles of trout streams. Of those streams, 868 miles are classified as “Blue Ribbon Trout Streams.” Many are in northern Michigan, including the Boardman River. How many miles of the Boardman River are classified as a “Blue Ribbon Trout Stream?” Round you answer to the nearest ten and divide that answer by ten.

(B): Since 1851, records of been kept for when and how long the west arm of Grand Traverse Bay freezes over. It is considered frozen over when the bay freezes over from downtown Traverse City to Power Island, a distance of 6 ½ miles. The earliest the bay froze over was on January 10th; the latest the bay was remained frozen over was May 4th. What is the shortest duration (in days) that the bay froze over?

(C): The official world record for a whitetail deer is a 213 5/8 buck taken in Saskatchewan during 1963. The unofficial world record for a whitetail deer may be in Grand Traverse County. The deer was taken in November 1998. How many inches more was the unofficial record?

(D): Camp Grayling is the country’s largest National Guard training site, occupying 147,000 acres. As far as the largest military installations east of the Mississippi is concerned, where does it rank?

(E): In the 1960’s, Coho salmon were introduced to Michigan to combat an infestation of alewives. The Coho salmon introduction was very successful. The Platte River hatchery releases millions of fingerlings every year. On a fateful day in September 1967, a freak storm swept over the mouth of the Platte River during peak fishing season. How many fishermen perished that day? Add one to your result.

(F): During July 1987, a Cherry Pie weighing 28,330 pounds measuring 17 feet in diameter was baked during the National Cherry Festival. You can still see the pie pan in front of Sara Lee on Cass Road in Traverse City. As far as the world largest cherry pie is concerned, what is this pie currently ranked as?
