Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE WILL BE ARCHIVED IN AUGUST AND RELOCATED AS AUTOMAINA #2
This cache is part of a gas saver package. You can also do "Gambo Bridge Challenge", "Pez Challenge" and "Alexanders Challenge" (mine) and "Gambo Powder Mill" (not mine) at the same time. If you plan to do this, it is easiest if you start with "Pez". (Easy is relative though since mine are all 3 1/2 or 4 hides, HeHe.

This is a very nice 1/2 mile round trip walk. kid friendly.

This is an auto inspired cache. Any trades must be auto related. Hot wheels, car key rings, car dealer key rings, auto nameplates, or auto travel bugs. It is stocked with a fleet of new hot wheel cars.

The above co-ords take you the the parking area. You can park on the left by the big trees (don't block the power plant gate) or you can park on the right. This is the Gambo Rd. off the River Rd. in Windham.

On both ends of the bridge are rail fences. Add the total number of fence posts you find to 43.44.576 for the north co-ords for the cache.

The bridge has 6x6 (ok, maybe 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" to someone who is technical) railing posts on each side. (Don't count the 3 posts on each end that keep out vehicle traffic.) Add the number of the bridge's 6x6 railing posts to 070.26.382 for your west co-ords for the cache.

After you cross the bridge, take either the first or the second trail on the left (second is more direct). There is a lot of tree cover and you may loose reception along the way, but there are clear areas near the cache and you should be able to get a good reading from several areas close by that will point you towards the cache site.

The trail you are on is the old tow path along the side of the hundred year old Portland to Harrison canal system. This canal system is just amazing. To think that only a hundred years ago men with pick axes and shovels built this thing. If you have a good imagination you can see the horses pulling the barges past you. Don't get in their way. This tow path continues all the way to south Windham.

After you find the cache, please replace it so that it is hidden as well or better than it was when you found it.

Have fun, It is there, but you have may have to use more senses than sight. Slow down and THINK, your geocaching powers should reveal the location to you. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE ANYTHING TO RETRIEVE THE CACHE. DONT EVEN THINK OF TAKING ROCKS OUT OF THE WALLS, IT"S NOT IN THE WALLS. IF YOU START PICKING UP OR MOVING ANYTHING IT WILL NOT HELP YOU FIND IT.

First To Find: g-o paddling/bikers
