How Geocaching Works
Can you help the Princess find her favorite pet, the Hedgehog? A three-part multi-adventure for little and big kids! Park hours 6:00am-11:00pm. Dogs are not allowed.
Once upon a time there lived a beautiful Princess who was loved by all. It was said that her kindness and compassion were even recognized by the animals of the forest. Stories are told of her animal friendships, particularly with Thomas, a young and sometimes foolish turkey; William, a kind and watchful wolf; and the Princess' favorite: Hector, the loving hedgehog. Indeed, this fable is about this trio of animals....
It was a dark and stormy night at the castle. The Princess and her animal friends were in the throne room being reveled with tales of bravery and adventure by the Royal Huntman, Ronald. As Ronald told tale after tale of warriors, wizards, and other heroes of the light, Thomas, thrusting out his chest, claimed, "We animals, Ronald, are just as brave as you humans! Indeed, to show you, Hector and I will venture forth tonight into the storm!"
"Ah, are you sure?" squeeked Hector.
"We'll just go a little bit across the Stonebridge," stated Thomas. "We won't be gone for long."
William, laying by the fireplace, looked at Ronald and winked to let him know that he would keep an eye on them. The turkey and the hedgehog walked to the front gate, across the drawbridge, and towards the stonebridge. As William started to follow them in the pouring rain, a bolt of lightening struck a nearby tree stunning him unconscious! When William awoke, Thomas and Hector were gone, apparently frightened away by the lightning and thunder.
A search party needs to be organized to find Thomas and Hector: it is up to you to find Thomas, then get information from him to seek William who may have found the whereabouts of Hector, and finally rescue Hector for the Princess. Because of the continuing storm, the Princess believes that her friends will be sheltering in low, cave-like openings.
There is no parking near the entrance of Minz Park, nor is there a sign for Minz Park. Suggested parking is at N43 23.886 W088 10.258. From parking head south on the Stonebridge to find the entrance to Minz Park (N43 23.785 W088 10.262). From there your adventure begins by finding Thomas, the turkey. Please bring your own pen/pencil. Good luck and have fun!
