Geocache Description:

Introduction

This is a simple multi-cache that takes you around the top of Cadbury Hill. There are two viewpoints, one looking West towards Clevedon and South Wales, and the other East towards the Mendips.

Start

The co-ordinates are for the car park at the end of Henley Lane. This is the first stage of the trail. Read the sign in the car park. At the end is the phone number of the designer. You will need the first 5 digits. These are “abcde”.

Waypoint 1

Head towards the viewpoint (see co-ordinates below) and from there continue into the woods to waypoint 1 at N 51°22.9c4 W002°48.abe. On the sign are some diagrams. How many “amphorae” are there? The answer is number “f”.

Waypoint 2

Continue to waypoint 2 at N 51°22.d9d W002°48.33f, where there is a nice view. In front of you is a wooden fence. Starting at the far left count the number of vertical fence-posts that have a square cross-section (ignoring any that are round) – this isn’t as difficult as it sounds! This will give you a 2 digit number “gh”.

The cache

The cache is nearby at N 51°22.e(f+h)h W002°48.he(e+g)

Return

To get back to the car park you can retrace your steps or explore one of the many other paths down the hill.
