Geocache Description:

Downtown Tama - Old Glory

The name of this cache says a lot about where it's placed in a couple of ways. It's located in downtown Tama (Iowa)... an area that has seen better days. In its glory years this was a vibrant business district. Not as much business these days but there are dedicated citizens working hard and bringing downtown Tama back to life. Proof of that can be seen every June during Tama's annual Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival.... but that would NOT be a good time to hunt for this cache! The festival's namesake is about 1 mile east of this point and it's depicted in a mural just across the street. Be sure to visit the LHB park near the bridge to learn more about this piece of history.

I almost named this "Wet Feet" and when you find it you'll know why. Please place it back carefully on its "perch" to avoid getting the contents all wet.

Please don't disturb any foliage and be stealthy. Local law enforcement and maintenance crews have been informed of this cache so they probably won't pay much attention to your activities here. This cache was placed with permission from the City of Tama.
