Geocache Description:

NOOooooo we are NOT gonna FLASH anything, this event has to remain 'family-friendly'!

This event is part of the WWFM - World Wide Flash Mob coordinated events

The World Wide Flash Mob Caching Event. November 10th, 2007

See the primary cache event location here: GC16NAQ

Are you ready to be a part of Geocaching history?!?

The Basic Idea: A "Flash Mob" Gathering of Geocachers. Only 15 minutes long!

You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.

You've heard of MEGA-EVENTS? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways.

A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, then quickly disperse.

FLASH MOBS have gathered for other reasons (http://tinyurl.com/7qpml ).

Come be part of this historic event!

Locally, we will meet at the coordinates given, in the parking lot at Mealy Mountain Collegiate, rain, snow, or sunshine!

Please leave a note on our site here if you can attend because we are making up little 'loot-bags' for each participant, and want to have enough of them ready!!

This event is timed to coordinate with similar events held worldwide, with San Diego being the originating point.

WWFM (World Wide Flash Mob Event):

Dozens of events all around the world...
Thousands of geocachers participating...
Coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers for a fun and unique event...

Introduce others (muggles) to the fun of geocaching...

These events will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not one second longer.

LOCAL RULES

Arrive near 'Ground Zero' no more than 10 minutes prior to the start time and wait in your car until the signal for the start of the event is provided (see below!)

TIME LINE of EVENTS

At 12:59PM I will reach ground zero with the container, and when the container hits the ground, that is the signal for the Flash Mob Event to begin. Everyone now makes their way to GZ!

1:00 PM - Get your loot bag (see below!) and open it, retrieve your log sheet and fill it in. Place logsheet in the cache. Mill about, trade coins/TBs, swap stories, etc!

1:08 PM - The event “banquet” will be served! (Retrieve the meal packet from the loot bag!)

1:11 PM - Prize draws.

1:13 PM - Assemble for a group photo.

1:14 PM - One minute warning is called "It is now 1:14!" Prepare to leave.

1:15 PM EXACTLY - Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area (right at 1:15 PM)!

Meet elsewhere if desired. If everything goes right we will have lots of cachers coming out of nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event and then disappearing! This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle eyebrows!

If any muggles are curious about the event we will have handouts/fliers that explain geocaching.

Tell your friends and help promote the event!

There may be several muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the fun!)

IF ANYONE WANTS TO ADD ANYTHING TO THIS EVENT, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME WITH SUGGESTIONS!!!

Here is a note from Podcacher.com concerning these WWFMs:

... anyone who attends a Flash Mob event around the world could be eligible to win a prize! What we'd like to do, is gather all the names from all the events, and then we'll randomly draw a few winners to pick from the prize vault.

I'll submit the necessary info, and maybe one of us will win a prize!
