Out on a west end raid for kid friendly caches on a beautiful sunny day with Sigspig and 3/4 of our offspring. Compared to the amount of time spent looking at this cache from the computer screen side, the field side was very quick, and we eventually had the cache in hand. Spotted a deer on the bush bash to the redirect. Afterwards, the kids had fun playing with some weeds and making their seed pods 'snow' in the area.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache!

Out with GPComd, his two girls & NIM97 (my oldest) for a raid of the west end. Beautiful day. Unbelievable temperatures for this time of year. Have been working on this puzzle for "awhile". Finally noticed something odd & mentioned it to GPC who has all the tools loaded on his machine. Got some workable #'s & today was the day. Lots of deer sign in this area (is that a hint?)
Thanks for the cache!

The goal was to have this one solved and found prior to the RSA conference in San Francisco, otherwise it was going to cost me some refreshments and a great amount of ridicule with some of the attendees.

I am embarrassed to say that I over complicated this one and should have taken the KISS approach on determining the correct GZ.

However, I think I redeemed myself once at the projected GZ and had the cache in hand in short order. It was just a matter of waiting, observing and taking the geo-zen approach.

Nicely done mlord, really enjoyed the sparring and solving the enigma. Took nothing, remembered to sign the log book and left two loonies so you can buy some bird seed to feed the chickadees.

Wow! Now that was one tough puzzle. Mind you, it was fair too, all the necessary clues are in the cache description and hints. Finding the tag took a week of work and then: eureka! I found the tag fine, but for some reason I didn't know how to solve the second part. I put it down, winter came, and then a note was posted on the cache page. I picked up my notes, and had two viable coordinates within a couple of minutes, d'oh! I can't believe I didn't decrypt the second part right away. With the snow gone, I finally went to look for the cache, and after over half an hour, came up empty. Then I saw that the Fossils found it. I went back, trusted the GPSr, and got really lucky, I found the cache in about 30 seconds. w00t! Too bad that mojo didn't rub off on Saddle Up! (but that is another story). Congrats on putting together an excellent puzzle, with an outstanding cache hide.

Finally! After agonising for months over the first part of the cache, we finally clued into the coordinates for the redirect. Nothing seemed to work, but the clues are all there and once you see it, you know you have them. Tag is in lovely shape.

Then after several long hours of searching and a fortuitous meeting with rossmtbiker, we still didn't find it. However, today I met up with the Evil One himself (can anyone who feeds chickadees be totally bad?). I led him to my GZ and it turned out to be correct. However, we had searched there before. EO, with kindness instead of deserved ridicule, showed me a few nifty things about my GPSr and the cache was soon in hand. A little moisture in the cache, but not bad at all. Stuffed to the brim.

This was a really fun cache to do and had all the elements of a good hunt: crypto, devious hide, hair-pulling, frustration, feelings of stupidity, 2 inches of printouts on code-breaking, long walks, log-reading. Actually there is only one minor hint in the logs and we'd already figured that out. Ah, it's done! (Except I have to bring the other Fossil back to find it too.)

T - Trailer Park Boys Meet Bigfoot CD, which I can't seem to download (will pass it on when we're done)
L - War card game (seemed appropriate)

Thanks, The Fossil(s) (Mlord is really a very nice person.)
