Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the listed coordinates, they have nothing to do with finding it. You will have to solve the Confession to arrive at where you need to go to find it. If you have figured it out correctly, it should be obvious. The trek to the actual cache is not a long hike, but it's meant to be a bit devious and difficult hence the rating. Container is a small 2x3x4 green decon box.

The story goes: There was a rather eccentric man with some interesting philosophies, who was also known to have quite a nice cache stashed somewhere. He lived very frugally, but was also delirious at times but quite lucid in the next moment. The problem was, it was hard to tell which was which and he liked to keep it that way else someone would get too close and grab his cache. As he lay on his deathbed he was quoted by some anxious relatives as saying the following:

"drink milk, it's great. death of a state is final. a marlinespike is pointed. two spiders spin lies and surrealism. empty talk is never silver lined. it does not matter. diligence is civil order."

Baffled by this outburst of seeming gibberish, they asked if he was OK but the only response was more of the same:

"butterflies waver in wind. that is serious pain. i felt better afterwards. permission granted to talk. kids love digital watches. no, this is serious pain. meteors eternally threaten earth."

And with that he passed away. Upon reading his will, the only instructions were that his last words (both sets) contained all the information needed to find his cache.

The only hint offered for now is that the words and letters are in precisely the right order and that this is not a cryptogram of any sort; but there is a code to break.

With each successful new find I will offer an additional clue for those who request them.

24 Feb UPDATE!!! Since 3 brave souls have now triumphed, new clues have been added in the hints section. Some may have already received these via email.

Have fun!!!
