Potentilla: Die Pflanzengattung der Fingerkräuter (Potentilla) gehört zur Familie der Rosengewächse (Rosaceae) und umfasst etwa 300 bis 500 Arten.

Der Name “Fingerkraut” bezieht sich auf die fingerförmige Blattfiederung. Früher wurden die Blätter und Wurzeln des Aufrechten Fingerkrautes in der Volks- und Tiermedizin als krampflösendes Mittel verwendet. Heutzutage findet das Fingerkraut wegen seines hohen Gerbstoffgehaltes vor allem als Magenmittel arzneilich Verwendung. Der Tee wirkt bei Blutungen aller Art, insbesondere aber bei übermäßig starker Periode, bei Magen- undDarmkatarrh sowie bei Durchfall, Ruhr und zu hohem Fieber.

Äußerlich wird es bei Mandelentzündungen, schlecht heilenden Wunden und Zahnfleischentzündungen angewendet. Bei Zahnschmerzen kann das Kauen eines Wurzelstücks zur Schmerzlinderung führen. Desweiteren wurden junge Blätter und Wurzeln des Fingerkrautes als Gemüse gegessen. Die Blätter dienten bei Holzschuhen als Einlegesohlen.

Die Blutwurz, bzw. deren Wurzel, wurde auch zum Rotfärben benutzt, unter anderen bei der Herstellung von Schnaps. Früher wurde die Blutwurz auch als Reinigungs- und Sühnemittel sowie als Mittel gegen Blutfluss geschnitten.

ÜBER DEN CACHE:

Also das übliche - kein gefährliches Gelände muß betreten werden, wobei es da auch keines gibt. Auf Muggels aufpaßen - die gibt es.

Die oben angegebenen Koordinaten sind natürlich typisch für einen Mystery Cache falsch, wobei sie was mit der Person Potentilla zu tun haben.

Zum Geburtstag hat Potentilla einen Coin mit Gravur bekommen. Auf dem Coin sind Koordinaten eingraviert, die sie zu einem Cache geführt haben wo wiederum Koordinaten drinnen waren, die sie zu ihrem richtigen Geschenk gebracht haben.

Dem EINEN COIN sind nun 5 Travel Express und 3 Cache Movers beiseite gestellt worden, die euch helfen sollen den Cache zu heben. Denn, nur auf dem EINEN, den DREI und den FÜNF sind die Koordinaten vom Cache.

Potentilla is the genus of typical cinquefoils, containing about 500 species of annual, biennial and perennial herbs in the rose family Rosaceae.

The origin the name "cinquefoil" is the French cinque feuilles ("five leaves") and ultimately the Latin cinquefolium (see also trefoil). Another common name for these plants, referring to the leaf shape just as "cinquefoil" does, is five-fingers.

Some species are used in herbalism. P. fragarioides contains D-Catechin and is used as a hemostatic in Traditional Chinese Medicine, while Common Tormentil (P. erecta) was similarly used in European folk medicine, and also to treat diarrhea and other gastrointestinal ailments.
It is rich in flavonoids, saponins, tannins, as well as phenol and the glycoside tormentilline, and has been shown to be bacteriostatic and virostatic.
It also contains the red dye tormentole and was sometimes used to colour leather and other materials in former times.
