The views of the St Louis River bay area are not to be missed. The colors in the fall are simply staggering. Reminds me of a poem, now if I could just remember which one.
The Superior Hiking Trail extends over to Ely’s Peak on the west. I’m not sure how far east this segment goes.
The cache is a one-quart peanut butter jar with the usual items.
One little wrinkle to this cache. This section of Skyline Parkway is closed from November 1st to May 1st every year which adds a bit to the hike. I would suggest bringing a bicycle to pedal from the barrier to the first stage after the road gets closed. Of course, after the snow flies the bicycle may be superfluous.
