The Photo's are up. Are you in one?
This is an odd park. It is very clean (not much litter) but is dotted with concrete dumps used for soil retention, as this park is part of a drainage system for North Memorial Hospital. Most of the rather expensive park amenities have been burned down or just left in dis-repair.
I suggest parking at:
N45° 00.727'
W093° 20.012'
You will then face a 1/2 mile walk. Be sure to visit the site of the old bird watching deck that has since been burned down by some ogre. it is located at:
N45° 00.620'
W093° 19.986'
It still provides a wonderful view of the marsh, which is loaded with waterfowl ranging from mallards and wood ducks to geese and even a swan on a rare occasion! Although a first tier suburb, I've seen deer and even a coyote in this park. Bring the geo-mutt, but keep them on leash. The cache has 2 cookies for the first pup there, so hurry up and retrieve them before a geo-racoon beats you to it. The cache is reasonably close to a now dilapidated floating marsh-walk. This was once a wonderful amenity. The sound of redwing blackbirds and frogs can be deafening. Bring your junker shoes and give the walk a try, but prepare for wet feet. With the warmer spring weather, it is now possible to complete the walk in sandals, but you have to keep moving. It's kind of fun. It starts at the caches old location and ends at the new one (yes, they are close). This thing was obviously an expensive piece of equipment, and should be restored.
The cache may be a little tricky to find. It is a flat blue Tupperware type container and started out with:
Live bait Walleye rig
a multi-tool
Laser Pointer
deck of cards
Rainforest sounds CD
Key ring
Birthday candles (put one in your emergency match tube. It's a life saver)
Pheasant feathers (compliments of one of MY geo-dogs, Irving)
Guardian angel
Camera (take a photo, leave the camera please)
Cooglans emergency foil blanket
2 Iams dog cookies (get them out of there and into your dog, pronto!)
