This is going to be an event held in countries all over the world
by thousands of geocachers in dozens of similar events...come and
join us and become a part of geocaching history!!!
Visit this Link to find out more about the WWFM III.
The basic idea is that geocachers all over the world will
assemble for a brief (15 minutes only) event at exactly the same
time (1pm EST).
Local WWFM III Rules
- Before heading to the event
coordinates, stop at the first stage to pick up your event
identification.
- Park some distance away from the event coordinates (there are
multiple parking spot coordinates in numerous directions to help
attendees avoid clumping) allowing ample time to arrive at the
event coordinates exactly on time.
- Walk casually towards the event, but do not approach ground
zero or greet other geocachers prior to 1pm.
- At exactly 1pm, by the town clock which is located nearby, put
on your event identification and come on in to ground zero
to greet your fellow geocachers.

SCHEDULE:
12:59 pm - an NNYGeo representative (NFA) will reach ground zero
with the cache container and a travel-bug trading container.
1:00 pm - The event officially starts, put on your event
identification. You may now approach ground zero and sign the
logbook. Mingle. Trade travel bugs, coins and swag. Share stories.
Brag. Take pictures. Make arrangements to meet elsewhere after the
event, or to find the various caches in nearby areas.
1:07 pm - The event “banquet” will be served!
1:10 pm - Prize drawing.
1:11 pm - Assemble QUICKLY for a group photo, everyone must wear
their event identification for the photo.
1:14 pm - One minute warning is called "It is now 1:14!"
Prepare to leave. But don't really look like you are preparing to
leave.
1:15 pm - EXACTLY - Wait for it ... then IMMEDIATELY TAKE OFF
THE EVENT IDENTIFICATION AND LEAVE THE AREA. Meet somewhere
else if desired (look at the waypoints for nearby meeting
places)... but at least 150 feet away, and in groups of no more
than 2-3 people. The event area will be evacuated without a trace.
If you didn't get to it in time you can't log the event. Only those
participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log this
event. |
If everything goes right we will have lots of people coming out
of nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event
and then disappearing...this could be lots of fun and maybe even
raise a few eyebrows!
We'll have some geocaching cards and brochures to hand out to
curious muggles.
