Teamed up with Chucklesda for this one. We wanted to go for a hike with a view. From this cache you can see south to Morgan Hill, East to San Jose and North to Oakland. The altitude is about 2300’. While at the cache location we took some time to explore around the area. It appears there once was housing in the area at an earlier time. Note the terraced areas. Getting to the cache is just a long walk up a dirt road for about 3.6 miles. The recommended parking area is at N 37 10.523 W121 51.847. Parking farther up Umunhum Rd is very limited and frowned upon by locals and ranger. The first 2.7 miles of the hike is very pleasant, it’s the last .8 miles that climb fast. But the view is great and you get quite close to the old radar installation.
