Geocache Description:

Originally placed by miksomas and adopted by Papakas Pack, now jpmonkey1

Welcome to My Ampshire series of 30 traditional caches. All caches can of course be attempted individually but should you decide to attempt the complete circuit following is an idea of what you can expect to have to contend with! The complete circuit is 18 miles and during this hike you will likely encounter all types of challenges from terrain, navigation and retrieval.

COORDS ARE CORRECT

Terrain for the series offers a mixture of countryside and urban caching. There’s nothing too steep to climb but difficulties you’ll encounter are marked tracks sometimes overgrown or extremely muddy. Navigation is what Geocaching is all about and you’ll be challenged by missing route way markers and rerouted paths. Retrieval is at your discretion, although you may think the cache would be better sited further up the road out of view of muggles that would defeat the object of that particular cache, it is your decision whether to attempt retrieval or leave it to another day or time.

Where possible I have offered advice to help overcome the more difficult terrain and navigational problems and I’ve been generous in my additional hints especially in muggle zones so you can be a little less conspicuous by at least being guided directly to the cache.

So it might be frustrating but such can be the nature of Geocaching, read the cache listing and if you don’t like the look of it, don’t attempt it! If you wish to log the fact that you didn’t like the mud, overgrown paths, lack of way markers, muggle zones or anything else that didn’t meet your personal caching taste be my guest but remember that’s all part of the challenge of the series. I have taken the trouble to explain in each cache listing the nature of each cache and advice on the route to the next in the series. It is your choice whether to attempt each individual cache.

Where possible I have given parking advice in individual caches. However you are responsible for making you own arrangements with the cark park owner for permission to park there and obviously do so at your own risk. Each cache rating is based on the walk from the previous cache in the series.

Please be advised you will need a writing implement for quite a few of this series of caches!

My Ampshire 7

From the previous cache “6” follow the path southeast to the country lane. Turn left along the lane down the hill. As you approach the cache location note the parking area on the left hand side. If you wish to use this to park please refer to my relevant notes above.

Continue on over the road bridge and turn immediately right to the footpath bridge.

Whilst in the area you may wish to continue on over the river to attempt cache GC1GEG0 some three to four hundred metres off the circuit. Return to My Ampshire 7 to continue with the circuit.

Beware of livestock in the fields especially if you are accompanied by a dog. Beware of dog walking muggles in the vicinity of the cache!
