Geocache Description:

The best caching partner I ever had was LACY. Her favorite things were Hot Dogs and Hugs. This cache is in memory of her. Container is a LNL in an area she would have liked because there are a lot of sticks to chew and squirrels to chase.

LACY was an English Springer Spaniel who could run/walk/play/romp many miles each day. She always had a smile on her face and her tail was always wagging. She liked everyone and everything, except squirrels. She was exceptional in the woods, she aways stayed close to the trail, she could leap over a downed tree like a ballerina, she never ventured far and would look back to be sure I was within view. She had to be the leader on a trail.

LACY was well behaved and knew her commands: sit, stay, shake, down, no, crate, up, and most important to her: "Let's go." That meant bolt for the door.

She was my GPS - half of it anyway. I would always get us to the cache, SL while she chewed on sticks and had that look in her eye: "why are we stopping?", and then I would clap my hands twice, and she would lead us back to the car, on the exact paths that it took us to get to the cache. Whatever zigzags or backtracking I would take to get to GZ, she would follow that exact path and get us back to the car. I never had to mark the car with my GPS when LACY was caching with me. She was a loyal, energentic, supportive geocaching partner. I miss her.
