Durdle Door (Dorset) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Gary & Jane: Time for this one to go. It's getting a bit crowded round here! We'll leave the box in place for a couple of weeks to allow anyone on holiday to find it. Thanks to everyone who visited over the last 6 years.

Geocache Description:

Durdle Door is an internationally famous rock arch forming part of the 95 mile Dorset & East Devon Jurassic Coast, England's first natural World Heritage Site.

There is parking for a few cars at a layby near the turning to the Durdle Door Holiday Park at N 50° 37.742 W 002° 16.020. The cache is less than a mile from here. Pay & Display parking is also available via the caravan park which reduces the walk to half a mile. Charges are a bit high (£2.50 for 2 hours) but you can use the same ticket at Lulworth which is well worth a visit.

This is a very popular location so please be discreet when you retrieve and replace the cache. The hiding place is quite exposed but you can sit on the grass nearby to examine the cache without arousing too much suspicion. Click here for a map.

The cache is a 4.5 litre tupperware box and was last restocked on 4 September 2008. Don't feel obliged to take anything but please leave something of similar value if you do. All our trade items are new and cost around £1 each.

The box is painted black to blend in with its surroundings and deliberately uncovered to avoid a lengthy (and possibly painful) search.
