CAGE 7 Souvenirs of August - Socializer Souve/RAD Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: Greetings,

As this event has long since past (over a month), I am archiving it to prevent it from showing up on searches and the map by cachers in the area.

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

This event is too teach a safe and practical way to ascend a single rope. R.A.D. is Rapid Ascend Descend Or go up and down quickly. There is a cache close by that requires this type of gear so come out and see for yourself what it takes to climb a single rope.

Where? Poxson Park in Lansing MI

When? 5:30 pm till 8:00 pm ish

Why? Because its a fun hobby we want to share

Who? All of you hopefully

The Gear provided is as follows:

1 7/16 Rope 120Ft long

1 Full body harness fits waist 34-45

1 Sit harness, Fits waist 23-42

1 right hand Ascender ( it can be used either hand)

1 pulley

1 Foot strap

1 Descender

4 Carabineers

We suggest you bring a helmet and gloves. We strongly recommend gloves, you won’t need them for the ascend, but you will want them for the descend.

As always there will be cachers around with cameras and hecklers around telling you 10 more feet. Its part of the fun that is going after these caches. You do NOTneed to make the ascent to the cache to claim an attend of this event, but you DO/b> need to make an appearance. We ask that if a person starts to panic the heckling stops.

Set-up will happen around 5PM weather permitting and will stay up till 8ish or the last volunteer gives it a try.

We will set up a safety rope that will be attached to you if you try the 40ft climb. This rope will not be used to pull anyone up. It is only used to lower a person in case of emergency.

We hope for a good turn out and great weather to enjoy the fun that is RAD climbing.
