Owls' Perch Traditional Cache
-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email) within the next 30 days, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

You are looking for a camouflaged micro, on the perimeter of private property, with the owner's consent. You will be able to access the cache without disturbing flowers.
Parking is available on the shoulder. Northwest of Ground Zero is recommended.
This camouflaged micro lies near the foot of a recently-created Elk Lake landmark. The work is sculpted from an enourmous elm, damaged by wind in 2011, but salvaged by the owner. The artist is Dr. Emil Szipala, known professionally as The Chainsaw Man of Michigan, whose works and biography can be seen at www.treecarvings.com.
"Born of Slovak parents, he is a native of Romania, where he studied Woodcarving and fine arts. He immigrated to the USA in 1991.
Emil holds a diploma as a carpenter and woodcarver. His specialty is to build and restore wood-carved altars, fireplace mantels. In addition his fine work includes woodcarving, antique restoration, custom frames, designs, wood finishing, lathe turning and fine carpentry. He teaches the old world craft of wood-carving and has chainsaw artistry expertise.
In 1993 he became partners with Dr. Kenneth D. Boshell. Known as 'Chainsaw Men of Michigan', together they appeared on television's M.D.L.A. Magazine, shows, exhibitions, parades, newspapers, etc. After Dr. Boshell's retirement in 1999, Emil received the full Title as The Chainsaw Man of Michigan. Currently he is creating sculptures from the existing trees (stumps) 90% on tree location. He is one of the best Chainsaw carvers around. His work can be seen in home owner's yards, gardens, golf courses, and businesses through the state of Michigan, and out in New York, California, Florida, South Carolina, Ohio, even Canada and Europe. He has been recognized and listed as an 'Honored Professional' in the nationwide register 'Who's Who'.
'With an artistic philosophy that mixes elements of Rodin with Walt Disney... his figures reflect and delight similar to the Matisse paper cutouts.' -Greg Larkin, Art Critic"
FTF will walk away with an infrequently seen coin from the far-east.
