Located on the Eastern Side of the Chesapeake Bay this area is famous for the massive concentrations of waterfowl. During the seasonal migrations, the Geese, Ducks and Swans number in the millions here...at all other times it is easy to see tens of thousands of "full time" residents.

This 3600 acre refuge is also home to numerous Bald Eagles, Deer, Otter, Muskrat and Nutria. Contains the largest, and almost last, remaining Delmarva Fox Squirrels. This squirrel, now on the endangered species list, is about the size of a house cat and has a huge bushy tail like a Fox hence the name. Several nice trails and automobile tours...be sure to bring your binoculars. This is a Federal Wildlife Refuge so most areas are restricted to non-humans.
