The Muppet Show, a half-hour long musical comedy variety show, aired on TV from 1976-1981. The action in each episode included onstage acts and frantic backstage activity among emcee Kermit the Frog, his Muppet friends and a live celebrity. The creation of puppeteer Jim Henson, The Muppet Show introduced us to many endearing characters, many of whom are being celebrated with caches in and around the Whitnall Park/Root River Parkway area.

Fozzie Bear
“Here I am, Fozzie Bear, to tell you jokes both old and rare!”
Fozzie Bear is Kermit the Frog’s best friend and the Muppet Show’s stand-up comedian. His jokes are typically bad puns and one-liners. Poor Fozzie lacks confidence and often resorts to stealing his ideas from the guest hosts. Here’s one of my all-time favorite Fozzie moments when he makes his own ventriloquist dummy, Chuckie, so he can emulate Edgar Bergen. Start around 6:35. Fozzie Bear
In honor of Fozzie Bear, please include “Wocka Wocka” in your log.
