Roadside quickie. The Tasmanian Devil Education centre here is free
of charge and a worthy restop. You can see and handle all sorts of
artifacts of related marsupials eg. skulls, and view an educational
video. Charges only apply to enter the zoo proper.
(but where else can you get to pat a tassie devil? We hear tell the
restaurant is worth a visit too.)
Please don't let the kids climb the structure it's not that strong.
The Tasmanian Devil is in Danger - not Dangerous!
The Tasmanian Devil is the symbol of the Tasmanian National Parks
and Wildlife Service. Tasmanian devils only became extinct on
mainland Australia 600 years ago. The Devil Facial Tumour Disease,
is having a devastating effect on the Tasmanian devil population
which had recovered from a decline in the 1940's when it was feared
the animal would follow the thylacine into extinction.
Feralz like the aussie obssession with BIG things - did you see
the BIG Coffee pot further up the road towards Deloraine? The
inspiration for this cache was a Robtas
TB who turned up after nearly a year MIA! As part of a game
some cachers have released travelbugs headed here -

Aaah, big things. Gotta love 'em... though I though the nearby 'Big Spud' really needed to be a little bigger - it was tiny!
Had to do a number of laps before finding the box... I swear I looked there many times, it was just well tucked away. Sat in the long grass to log, gave myself hayfever in the long run! Thanks FF.
