I-40 NC exit 105 TB Motel Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

NeverSeenGene: I am not actually archiving this hide, but merely moving it back across the intersection (because of extensive construction work now going on near its current location) to its original location (from whence I moved due to extensive construction going on over there a couple of years ago). The reason for the archive and the relisting under a new number is because that seems to be easier than going through a reviewer to move this cache some 1500'.

Geocache Description:

This is an easy-to-find travel bug motel conveniently located just off Interstate 40 in North Carolina, at exit 105. There is parking at either of two adjacent eating places and just a little farther away at a variety of locations. STEALTH IS NEEDED TO PRESERVE THE HIDE. Read the entire description for more information.

This is a duct-taped plastic jar meant primarily for exchange of geocoins and small to medium-size travel bugs; however, there is room for small items and I try to keep a few in the cache.

This hide is now located behind and between one fast food establishment that offers outdoor dining and two eating establishment facilities that currently are closed.

The cache is hiding in its own "Airstream" in a sheltered location below a low ridgeline. It is in a small "woodlands environment" (with all that entails--poison ivy, briars, fallen trees, possibility of small creatures and various noxious plants).

It is possible to do this cache after dark, but you'll need to take care and to use a small light to avoid/negotiate obstacles and to open the container and sign the log.

Businesses near the interstate at this exit include numerous gas stations, three motels, and more than a dozen restaurants and other food outlets.

(THE TERRAIN RATING VARIES ACCORDING TO YOUR PARKING SPOT AND AVENUE OF APPROACH. THERE WILL BE POISON IVY IN THE AREA DURING WARMER MONTHS OF THE YEAR.)

TOO BAD ABOUT ALL THE LITTER THAT KEEPS ACCUMULATING; SOME CITO APPTECIATED! ALSO,YOUR CONSIDERATION, CARE, AND HELP ARE BOTH DESIRED AND REQUIRED TO PRESERVE THIS CACHE! THANK YOU!
