Beacon Ridge
Descent
This is the third in a series
of 3 caches that will lead you on a loop hike of Mt. Wire, also
known as Big Beacon in reference to the 1960s airplane beacon
located at the summit. The 3 caches are:
Beacon Ridge Ascent (6-stage multicache)
Beacon Ridge Summit (an easy puzzle cache)
Beacon Ridge Descent (5-stage
multicache)
After leaving the summit, be sure to stop by for
Emigration Vista.
Each stage contains the coordinates for the next
stage. Following are notes for each of the 5 stages:
Stage 1 - Elevation 6,550 feet. Cream cheese
container.
Stage 2 - Elevation: 6,190 feet.
Plastic peanut butter jar - camoed.
Stage 3 - Elevation: 5,720 feet. Clear
plastic nano - see the hint to make it easier.
Stage 4 - Elevation: 5,580 feet. Almost
down! Match tube.
Final - Elevation: 5,170 feet. Match
tube. This stage marks the intersection of the Mt. Wire
southwest ridge trail and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
From here, turn left (southeast) on the BST and follow it back to
the parking area.
I hope you enjoyed the hike!
