She made up someone to
be
She made up somewhere to be from
This is one business in the
world where that's no
problem at all
Everything that is left
They will only plow under
Soon every one you know
will be gone
And now she's dead
Forever dead
Forever dead and lovely now
Another in the Real Gone series. This cache has been updated from
its original description and is now a repository for "dead and
lovely" relics as long as they are not dead and smelly ones (catch
my drift?), dried wood with interesting curves, seeds with
interesting shapes (although not necessarily dead), fossils from
local quarries, whatever fits the description and is naturally
preserved is fodder for this cache.
This cache contains bone fide flotsam that I
collected off the shores of Costa Rica, specifically from the
beaches at MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK. PLEASE LEAVE
THESE ITEMS IN THE CACHE, which is located at
N44°AB.CDE W88°FG.HIJ
When you get to the listed cords, you will see a large central
monument which will provide answers to the following clues:
A: Number of figures
"kneeling",
B: Number of "spikes" visible from
the front,
C: Number of Disciples
present,
D: Number of figures looking in
the direction of the central figure,
E: Number of letters above the
central figure.
F: Number of eyes cast upon the
ground,
G: Total number of "clasped"
hands,
H: Number of figures
standing,
I: Total number of garments (not
the same no. as figures),
J: Total number of hands
"praying",
3.19.07 Update The initial waypoint container has proven to
be less than sustainable and a bit too fragile to last. It is being
repaired and will find its way to the final so it can join the
other dead and lovely things to look at. The new container will be
a bit more robust and should weather the seasons.
10.26.09 Update The Final cache has been
moved, this listing updated to an offset (field solve) multi, and
puzzle component added. ALL PREVIOUS FINDERS ARE WELCOME TO FIND
IT AGAIN.
This cache is NOT ON cemetery grounds.

November 13 by JimandLinda (2169 found) My 2 twenty-something daughters were with me Monday to do the #s at WP1, so we got all but 1 of the numbers correct. Drove to GZ and previewed the area but had to return today to make the find. PAF'd to make sure it was the right area and after a little blood on the finger, the cache was in hand. Contents was interesting, as well. SL TFTC s/s.
[view this log] | November 12 by huffinpuffin2 (948 found) This was another excellent multi you've placed for us to play with, S|S! Came up with a reasonable solve area OK, but took a second try on-site to come up with the find - and a very nice hide it was! Provided a very fitting connection with WP1................ Learned some things about the monument along the way (ok, you accomplished your educational objective with us on this one), as we double-triple-checked darn near every number of our solution, before regaining confidence that our search area had to be the only logical solution (that's gotten us in trouble many times with you puzzles......oh yes it has!) A very nice collection in the final cache, which we hope to return to with an offering sometime in the future.......likely after the snow flies and flees, though. Thanks again for a great addition to the Real Gone series!

[view this log] | November 7 by gotta run (1572 found) Looking at our recent logs and I realized we missed logging this one. That's the only downside to using field notes in the Garmin, if you miss logging one in the field.Well, we all spent some time analyzing WP1 and trying to make some educated determinations as to what the correct numbers might be. Came up with some coordinates so went to take a look but we were obviously way off. Back to WP1 again, a little more head scratching, and came up with some numbers that looked more solid. Second try was successful. I feel like we've been working on the "real gone" caches for about as long as the owner has taken to put them all out! Final is in good shape and was, not surprisingly, well camoed when we found it, and it was thusly returned...
[view this log] | November 2 by Sagasu (2772 found) What a great birthday present! Though a day early for that, this lovely cache, brought back from the dead for sure with the completion of the Real Gone series, combines an FTF of sorts with a triple-points LCG find, with the find at the new locations opened up to prior finders of the original version. The new multi had some unexpected numbers a few days back when I was watching my enabled cache list, but it couldn't have worked out better to have it back again with the rest of the series to start the month of November. Almost close enough to home to walk, the "monument" is a familiar sight in our "favorite" cemetery where a number of Jackie's relatives rest. The offset solve had some challenges that it took a few days to overcome, and I had to wait a few days to get a shot again. Both waypoints have suitable connections to the theme of this cache and song in unique ways, Nice hide there on the other side of the old fishing hole close to home!Had a chance to see a couple familiar old relics in the cache, and to add some specimens of our own, fossils from our favorite Rock Island. Dipping a special coin that wants to visit certain kinds of sacred grounds as it moves around these historic waters on a mini-tour of special caches. Thanks for this one in particular, Alex! A lovely return from the dead!
