To the west coast crowd, Hawaii is often viewed as the exotic tropical getaway vacation spot. To the east coast crowd, Bermuda plays that same role.
Whereas Hawaii has become a tourist mecca, Bermuda is a little more sedate and laid back. When visiting Bermuda, you will still experience vestiges of the English influence, even including the mid-afternoon tea experience!
Bermuda is known for its beautiful pink sand beaches, excellent snorkeling and scuba diving, friendly people, golf, outlandishly expensive houses and outstanding food.
In the summer of 2008, we had the pleasure of traveling there to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. We even had the chance to experience Tropical Storm Bertha, as she brushed past Bermuda!
