 O Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina ocupa uma área total de 75000 hectares nos concelhos de Sines, Odemira, Aljezur e Vila do Bispo. Abrange uma extensa área costeira com praias, falésias, dunas, ilhotas e rochedos isolados.
Esta cache está colocada ao longo de um interessante percurso (não circular) de cerca de 7Km que acompanha o rendilhado da costa entre a Praia do Malhão e o Porto das Barcas (Milfontes) e que permite acompanhar de perto numerosos aspectos relevantes da biologia e geologia da área, uma pequena amostra do que se pode testemunhar ao longo da costa de Sines até Sagres.
São sugeridos dois pontos de estacionamento e início de trilho. O caminho a seguir ficará a cargo do geocacher, sendo que este se encontra bem demarcado em grande parte do percurso. Relembra-se que é proibida a circulação de veículos motorizados na área protegida de dunas - a área é frequentemente patrulhada a cavalo pela GNR.

 The Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park is a 75000 ha area of protected landscape, featuring a coastal area buzzing with rich details like the natural beauty of its beaches, towering cliffs dropping hundreds of meters into the sea, vast stretches of dunes and seldomly visited corners by the sea.
This cache is one of the few placed along a one-way trail (about 7Km long) through the dunes and on top of astonishing cliffs from Praia do Malhão to Porto das Barcas (Milfontes) which will let you witness many on the unique aspects of the atlantic front of this park, which stretches from Sines to Sagres.
There are two suggested parking spots/ trailheads. It's up to the geocacher to choose the best approach, but the trail along the cliffs is well marked and visible for most of the length. Remember that motor vehicles are not allowed in the dunes: local authorities are usually spotted patrolling the area. |
Para usufruir do passeio pelas dunas e da esplendorosa vista sobre o Atlântico proceda com alguma cautela ao longo das frágeis falésias. Algumas caches poderão exigir manobras arriscadas (como subir ou descer pequenos obstáculos), estando grande parte das mesmas suficientemente perto do trilho principal e existente para que o possa fazer em segurança.
Poderá existir algum lixo ao longo do caminho - em grande parte responsabilidade dos pescadores: faça um pequeno CITO. De resto, aconselha-se o uso (e abuso) de água para beber, protector solar e máquina fotográfica.

To fully enjoy this walk through the dunes and over the cliffs facing the ocean, there's absolutely no need to risk your life (stay away from the edge of those cliffs) but some caches may require some stunts like climbing or descending some obstacles, but they are all relatively close to the pre-existing paths.
There might be some garbage lying around - play nice and practice some CITO. No more final remarks except for the usual: bring a lot of drinking water, sunscreen and your camera.

Milfontes Powertrail #0 - Furada do Norte
| Para aliciar os menos destemidos, eis que surge o ponto zero. O zero também conta, o zero também é número... mas pouco. É para os fracos, esta. Mas, no entanto, é uma cache encantadora. Apreciem a falésia sobre a bonita praia do Malhão e o manto de rocha furada que é percorrida pelas bonitas gaivotas, e também pelos pescadores. E por causa destes, a cache fica mais para Este da falésia. |

This cache is the one from the powertrail dedicated to the weakest ones. Only a few meters from the car parking spot, this cache wishes to encourage the geocacher to go thorough the rest of the trail. Enjoy the views from this rock platform, where's use to be a lot of beautiful seagulls and fishermen (not so beautiful...). The cache is a little away from the trail to avoid these last ones to use it to other proposes.
