Tempus Fidget Traditional Geocache

History is everywhere you look in Crescent City. Did you know that Crescent City (named for it's naturally crescent-shaped bay) was the thirteenth city founded in the State of California? And that it was the only maintained shipping harbor between San Francisco and the Columbia River on the Oregon/Washington border?

Well, if you go hunting for this cache, you will learn all of that and a bit more about how time just twitched along until present day. Near the cache you will find a monument (and the reason this cache is named what it is) that was hotly debated by the folks of this lovely ocean-side community, where you'd think that tempers would be, well, more tempered by the cool ocean breezes and all of the fog.

So, come by, take a seat out of the rain, and log this micro in a well-concealed mini-mint tin. There is only a logbook, so bring your own writing implement, and BE STEALTHY! This is a high-traffic place, and the businesses across the street of have lots of big windows, the better to watch you with, my dear. Also, note the difficulty level. After a number of attempts with DNFs, it has been decided that the prior rating gave Geocachers a sense that this would be an easier hunt than it is. So, as of 9/19/06 difficulty level was increased to a 3. By Maine standards this one would only be a 2! Oh well!
