Mount Agamenticus Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

gpsfun: JaKaching,

Back in June of 2006 Groundspeak received a request from the land steward to remove all of the geocaches on Mount Agamenticus. At that time we inactivated the subject caches and asked a local geocacher to contact the land stewardship group to work toward (hopefully) achieving an agreement that would allow geocaches in the area instead of having a complete ban.

We are pleased to report that an agreement has been reached. Please contact Robin Stanley so she may share the new policy with you. Robin's contact information follows:

It is necessary to archive this cache page. Hopefully you can obtain approval to place another cache in the Mount Agamenticus area that complies with the new policy.

Thank you for your understanding.

Geocache Description:

50 feet off a trail at the top of a small mountain.

Beautiful Mt. Agamenticus' summit is about 700 feet high and you can see the White Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. The views are great and there are picnic tables, etc. There is also a great story about an Indian saint who is buried here; you can add a stone to his grave. There are hiking trails and you can also drive to the summit. Also, you can go horseback riding (horses available to rent).

THERE IS NOW A SECOND CACHE!!! Go To: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=25183

This cache is a typical tupperware container containing a disposable camera and a log book. Take a pic of the view or yourself and I'll develop and post. Bring mosquito repellant! **Several visitors have come and taken stuff/left stuff; they logged their visit in the book but never made an entry on this web site. Please take the time to record your visit! The cache is in very good shape so come on up!** NOTE: To all of you who took your pic - I had the pics developed but the store messed up the disk so I'm working on getting the pics scanned to post - SORRY!
