Another cache on & around beautiful Mill Pond.
The cache itself is in a fairly predictible location, but you do need a boat to access it so hence the high terrain rating. There is a small launching area right at the Mill Pond Micro cache.

While this is a beautiful pond...it is VERY mucky. I placed this cache while the water level is low. You do not need to get out of your boat to reach it. It should be fine in any water level. The container is a boaters tube, about twice the size of a film canister. Please keep it tied up while you open the container.

I went out for a paddle today & checked on this one. It is still there.

Visiting in-laws, I got up early this morning to try to get this cache, which fills one of my outstanding fizzy challenge blocks. Following the twisty turny roads to the parking through a pretty area. Getting there, we quickly inflated our kayak and set off. It was a little foggy out. As we got to the cache area, there were 7-8 large birds on each of the larger rock formations. Very cool. But unfortunately, that ended the cool part! We worked our way around the little cove, looking for the cache, but didn't turn it up. Finally gave up.

I may only be down here once more before the winter sets in. It doesn't seem as if this one will be winter friendly, so maybe it will be nice next month.

It's nice to have an extra yak to share! That way I'm not out there all alone.... Yes, waaaaay mucky pond! But it is a very pretty place, and it was cool to see it from this vantage point after doing the surrounding caches. Thanks for joining me, BiPR! Peace.

Thanks to Cool Librarian for having two mobile kayaks! We paddled across this peaceful, but unquestionably mucky pond and found the cache forthwith. CL said the brown stuff floating in the pond was algae, but I dunno.... But the land and air surroundings were lovely. Lots of cormorants roosting on the rocks. And we saw the osprey soaring. TFTC!

I was surprised to see the clean log at 6:15 am seeing as how I was beaten by about 40 minutes to the LAST paddle cache...

how can you guys be sleeping in when there are FTFs to find!?
