Ol'Fogie's 1K Roast Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

I am archiving this event as it has been over 30 days since the event occurred. From the Geocaching.com listing guidelines regarding event caches:

"After the event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks."

Thank you for taking the time to create and host this event, but it is time for the listing to be archived.

Geocache Description:

Ol'Fogie started caching in August, 2011. Never a numbers chaser (except for FTFs), it wasn't until August of 2013 he hit 950. So, KNOWING he would SURELY chase his 1k, we got his ammo can ready and waited... and waited... and waited. Finally, in January of 2014, he decided to join the 4-digits club and grabbed his thousandth find. We were ready to celebrate... maybe. For personal reasons, he put off his 1K event... until NOW!

Thus, after 2 years in the making and another 2 years of "post-production", we are going to gather and celebrate Fogie's 1K! But, we wanted to do something different. We put our heads together and remembered a conversation from the past. Someone once said to Fogie that he seemed to take ribbing very well. He replied, "I have ex-wives & children and I used to be a lawyer. If you want to offend me, take a number and get in line."

We've decided to put him to the test on that with a ROAST. We will gather at The Alley Sports Grill (formerly Doc's) in Knoxville from 6:00-8ish on 8/29. Bring your geocaching stories, appetite, swag for his gold ammo can AND BARBS TO THROW AT HIM! He has given us carte blanche to be vicious and cruel without reservation.

While at most roasts the honoree gets to fire back at the end, we will see how that plays out as we want to keep him on a VERY short leash.

Also, this may be your last chance to grab the Geocaching Road Trip '15 event souvenir!

Hope to see you there!
