Use the In-Ko-Pa exit off of I-8. 4WD or a long hike required. Keep going after the smuggler's cave cache, another mile or two. Take (most of) all the left forks in the trails.
Take a CRACK at this one. Beautiful area. Highly recommended, BUTT a 4WD would be the preferred method to put this one BEHIND you. Awesome hiking area; unique rock formations. Clues have already been given to you. GPS was consistently 25 feet off after marking it twice, but if you can't find it given the clues already given, give up.Susan and I were out to Valley of the Moon this weekend (4/24/04). We changed the cache to a somewhat larger container. It was an altoids tin, now it's a bit larger. We added some goodies too. We added:
a disposable camera - take some pics and return it to the cache, please. I'll upload the pictures at a later date.
a pez dispenser (and candy)
two lizards
a turtle
a geode rock
plastic wasp
plastic ant
plastic butterfly
hand cleaner
lucky rabbits foot
larger log book and pen.
