We took the Little Pack Rats to the zoo to see the baby tigers, which we did not get to see. But we did get to see many other animals and hide this cache:) (We have been back to the zoo and saw the baby tigers.)
Woodland Park was designed by the Olmsted Brothers for the city of Seattle. Guy Phinney bought the 90.9 acres of land in 1889 for his private estate. His plans included a small zoo near his house, a bandstand and paths through the woods to Green Lake. The city of Seattle purchased the land from Phinney in 1900 for $100,000.
There are lots of things to do near this mini cache:
- The zoo
- The rose garden
- The lake
- The park
- See the rabbits
The cache is on the East side of Hwy 99. You can park here: N47°39.960 W122°20.788. Then it is an easy walk to any of the mentioned places after finding the cache.
