Geocache Description:

Located near the new Hathaway bridge which connects Panama City to Panama City Beach.

Growing up in Panama City with my dad meant a lot of time spent in, on and around the water fishing. He's an avid fisherman of both fresh and salt water species in the area. One of his favorite methods of catching fish is cast netting. If you're unfamiliar with the term, you can visit: Cast Netting for more information.

My 4-year old caching buddy, Little Boo, decided we needed to dedicate this one to grandpa since I grew up watching him cast net here and he recommended the spot for us. As you'll see from the original contents, this is a somewhat themed cache dealing with fishing. I'm not one to enforce the "Only theme related trade items will be accepted" rule, but if you could keep with the theme, that would be fun. The only rule I will enforce is that if you catch a bunch using something from the cache, we get invited to the fish fry!!! LOL! Just kidding.

The only rule I hope you do follow is to enjoy finding the cache and the natural beauty that will surround you while you are there.

Original Cache Contents:

1 PIN ON COMPASS
1 KILLER DILLER SHRIMP LURE
1 ½ OZ RAT-L-TRAP LURE
1 10PK OCEAN LOGIC GRUB HEADS
1 6PK LAKER 1 ¼” ROUND FLOATS
1 INSHORE SERIES DOUBLE JIG RIG RED FISH/SPECK & SAND BASS RIG
1 10PK MUSTAD SIZE 1 LIVE BAIT HOOKS
1 EMERGENCY RAIN PONCHO
1 LOG BOOK
1 PEN

Best parking to enjoy and see the area (read: park & grab) is located at:

N 30° 11.214 W 085° 44.180

However, if you want to see everything this area has to offer, park at Carl Gray Park which will be your natural intuition to begin with.

I made the difficulty rating a 2.5 due to the number of similar hiding spots and the possibility of poor signal due to the proximity of the bridge itself which may play havoc with your GPSr. Unfortunately, there is plenty of CITO opportunity in the area, although cans are provided it appears they rarely get emptied and are overflowing, so bring a bag and take some with you when you leave. Look for more from me soon. I've already got another one ready to go, just need to find a place to stash it.
