Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The cache is located at historic Fort Popham. Fort Popham is a semi-circular granite fort built in 1861 for use during the Civil War. Modifications were made and the fort used again in the Spanish American War and World War 1. Open Memorial Day to Sept. 30, but you do not have to enter the Fort to find the cache!
Parking easily can be found in the area. If you have time, pop into Spinney's for an ice cream or better yet. a fresh maine lobstah!
The cache is a micro film canister. Please watch for muggles and rehide carefully. BYOP.
PLEASE exercise good geocaching etiquette by writing a unique and valuable log (as opposed to "TNLNSL TFTC", or "#14 of 67 for a great day of caching"). As geocaching is becoming more and more popular, the acient art of log writing is being forgotten, and it is important to remember how important this component is to the sport!
Thanks and enjoy the Fort!
