Geocache Description:

This microcache is found in beautiful Washington Park. It was created to celebrate our second anniversary at the park where I proposed to my wife.

The cache is back up thanks to the Geocaching Community, and the efforts of SGT Fleming. The new location is located off a trail in a camoflaged pill bottle. You do not need to leave the trail to find it.

In June of 1999, I proposed to my wife at Washington park, a place that we visited often when we were dating. Because she was beginning to suspect that I might pop the question, I determined that I would strive to be as creative as possible when I asked her. If I couldn't surprise her (I did), at least it would be memorable (it was). Prior to arriving at the park on the Saturday that I proposed, I asked a couple of friends to set up a picnic lunch, with a large empty vase, some good food, and some Martinellis. After tricking my fiance, causing her to believe that I wanted to go to Portland to look at some bikes, we arrived at the park and "accidently" stumbled upon this abandoned lunch. Meanwhile, my friends remained hidden nearby where they asked strangers and passerbys if they would be willing to take a single rose over to the couple having a picnic, place it in the empty vase, and tell my wife how lovely she was. Two dozen roses later, I asked her if she would marry me.
The cache is a camoflaged pill bottle. In addition the location where it is hidden is extremely busy with tourists, couples, families, lovers of roses, and the occassional wedding party. Because of the potential for non players to discover this cache, please use caution when extracating or replacing it. There is a small log book in this cache, but you will need to bring your own pen or pencil.

When you log online, tell us how you proposed to your spouse (or how they proposed to you). If you are not married tell us another "proposal" you may have, such as: a proposal for world peace, a proposal for an extraordinary invention, or your proposals for current world affairs.
