Geocache Description:

In Australian aboriginal cultures, a "walkabout" is a ritual in which a young man goes on a solitary journey through the wilderness in an attempt to learn more about his own character and strength. You won't need to perform this ritual to find this multicache, but hopefully you will enjoy the beauty of your walkabout on Mt. Elden!

This is a multistage cache on top of Mt. Elden, overlooking Flagstaff and Northern Arizona. There are many different ways to get there, depending on how difficult you want to make your quest! Travel up the Mt. Elden Lookout Road (Forest Road 557)... I made it with my Camry, but a higher clearance vehicle is recommended! You can also hike, bike or run up the Sunset, Elden Lookout, Heart or Upper Oldham trails... you decide which is best for your 'walkabout'. Remember, this is only the first stage of your quest along the way to the cache! Like all hikes in Northern Arizona, be sure to bring water & wear sunscreen!

Please keep Mt. Elden beautiful, Cache In & Trash Out!

Bon Scott was Australian, wonder if he ever went on a Walkabout???

By the way, Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia, is Flagstaff's Sister City, so, g'day, Mate!
