The movie "Leap of Faith" was released December 18, 1992 and filmed here in Plainview, essentially at the Quick Lunch cafe with the water tower as a backdrop. Notice the Rustwater, Kansas mural painted on the east side of the Quick Lunch by the alley and the one on the west side of the water tower. When it was open, the Quick Lunch had pictures of all the actors on their wall since they came in there to eat nearly every day.
Steve Martin took over the lead role (Jonas Nightengale) after Michael Keaton quit the production. Email me the song that was on the radio in Jonas's car as he drove into Plainview....ah, excuse me, Rustwater, Kansas and who was singing it? Who was "Hoover" the bus driver? Take a picture of yourself standing by the mural on the Quick Lunch and post it on the site.
Debra Winger and Liam Neeson were the other main actors in the movie and of course, "Hoover" who is???
