Located near a picnic/rest area along US 385 in the Nebraska
Sandhills. General prairie terrian and hazards including cactus,
yucca, long grass, sand, uneven terrian and the occasional
snake.
This is our 10th cache and the farthest from our trail caches.
Semi-camoflaged 30 cal ammo can (sandy textured paint). The cache
is well hidden and about 200 yards south of the parking area. DO
NOT park along the highway. Best to park in nearby parking area and
walk along highway to cache area - Signs are intended to keep cars
off of old road remnants - hwy deptarment said they had some
trouble with teenagers driving out there. Watch for
Snakes!!! I saw 2 prairie rattlers within about 150 feet of
the cache site after placing the cache (see pictures). Use caution
and be discreet so as to not attract non-geocachers. Please rehide
well.
