Geocache Description:

Meet at 10am for a short bike ride on the Sammamish River Trail from its northern terminus to the Woodinville 'Tourist District' and back.

Number 8 in a series of bike rides along the many mostly flat, mostly paved biking/walking trails in the Seattle area.  For this December's ride, we're taking it easy on the Sammamish River Trail.  We start at Blyth Park (posted coordinates), the northern terminus of the trail.  We will follow the trail east and south to the Woodinville Tourist District (think:  famous brewery and winery), where we should be able to grab some lunch.  If the weather's reasonable, we can take streets back; otherwise we'll take the trail to be safe.  The trail is mostly flat and completely car-free. One way distance is a little under 5 miles.  Route map is here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6476442.

Bring a snack in case, but the Redhook brewery should be open for an all-ages lunch.  Speaking of the weather, I will only cancel this event if the weather is terrible:  heavy rain, lightning/thunder, snow or ice.  Bring a waterproof layer if it might rain.

The posted coordinates are for the parking lot for Blyth Park.  Consult your favorite mapping tool, as it is not obvious how to get there by car.  Those of you (like me) who will bike there up the Burke-Gilman can find it by taking the bridge straight across the river just after the tunnel/underpass near the golf course. Try to be there a little early so we can rally the forces.  Check your brakes and air beforehand.

Participants in this event hold harmless the cache owner/event organizer and assume all risks and responsibilties involved in riding a bicycle on trails and streets. Wear a helmet, dress in layers, and bring a spare tube.

If you have any suggestions/requests for future trails to ride on, feel free to mention them in your log.
