Welcome to Gum Neck
The "Welcome to Gum Neck" series of caches is designed to
introduce the geocacher to the community that I still call home.
Although I moved away years ago,it still gives me a special feeling
to return. I hope you enjoy your tour past potato, corn, soybean,
and wheat fields. And maybe you will spot a black bear or other
native wildlife along your journey. If time permits, try your
luck/skill by doing a little fishing while in the area.
I recognize Gum Neck is a bit off the beaten path. Therefore,
rather than placing a multi-cache, I have made each of the
prerequisite caches a stand-alone traditional cache with the final
cache a puzzle cache. That way, in addition to exploring a great
community, the geocacher can collect four smilies. And a special
treat awaits cachers who successfully complete the series. For
details see page one of the logbook for this cache. Enjoy!
This cache is a larger than normal ammo container with lots of
room for tradable items. The cache was originally stocked with
several items relating to Gum Neck’s basic fun and work activities
– farming, fishing and hunting.
The prerequisite caches are:

WARNING: Although it's noted in the attributes,
be aware that this cache location has ticks (and other biting
