Geocache Description:

Could also be known as the highwayman's rest or the nightriders rendez-vous located not far from a path which is easy to negotiate apart from a couple of stiles. Limited parking at N50 58.036 E000 53.760 or a more scenic route from N50 58.719 E 000 53.687 (about 13 minutes easy walk)

According to Russell Thorndike only Dr Syn knew where Gentleman James was to be found, but it might well have been this wild and lonely place. Not much is known about this old place but my researches suggest that it was an island long, long ago and was probably dedicated to St Stephen.

Admire the views and listen to the skylarks and curlews and read a chapter of Dr Syn while you're here.

The cache is only about 10 metres from the main path, but please be careful if there is any crop in the field and take care crossing the bridges over deep water.

The cache is a green lidded tupperware type box 13 x 9.5 x 4 cms so please don't try and put anything too large in it.As well as a log and pen the cache contains a Geocache fridge magnet, a keyfob, some chalk a few coins and a couple small toys. This was actually placed on Easter Sunday but before being released on the web had already been found by the 'Phantom Lovers', who left a very nice message in the log.

The present cache is a replacement for the original which seems to have gone for a walk.
