Geocache Description:

It's been five years since we started caching & during this time we've accumulated many friends, visited many states, accrued stats & found many different ways to go about caching. Of course hiking & biking are two of the most common ways but since we've been caching, kayaking has also made it's way into our world.

This event will combine all those geocaching means of transportation into one event, a geocaching triathlon.

To Start:

We will need to have our bikes and kayaks dropped off here, N 42° 55.750 W 085° 45.500, Reference point 1. Our cars should be parked here, N 42° 54.798 W 085° 46.057, at the Parking Area 1. Once back at the Reference point we will launch and begin our 2 mile kayak trip downstream back toward the cars. Once back at the cars, load the kayaks back onto your vehicle and start our run back to the reference point. As soon as we are back there we can grab our bikes and start on the 5.2 mile trek northeast to the walking bridge across the Grand and ride back to the cars along Indian Mounds Drive.
The Map below will show our route starting at the boat launch on Veterans Memorial Drive (Red reference point on the map). Follow the YELLOW Kayak route west, downstream to the take out point where the paddle boat used to be parked. From there the BLUE dots are our running route across Wilson and back north to our bikes. The GREEN line is our last part, the bike ride. Follow that line northeast then across the river then back southwest to our cars where we left them.
The adventure begins at 1:15pm and will last far more than the half hour required. The posted coords for the event are on the water so we'll have to launch by 1:00pm to get to the coords by 1:15. We can meet at the launch point at 12:30 to LOCK BIKES and KAYAKS, then stage vehicles back at the parking coords.

Grab your kayaks and bikes and join in on the adventure.
